Welcome to the official website for the Village of Balsam Lake

Welcome to beautiful Balsam Lake, a progressive community where friendliness is only surpassed by the stunning scenery. The Village is nestled on the largest lake in the area (2,054 acres), which is teeming with fish to satisfy the most avid of anglers. The unique shoreline stretches 65 miles and the lake is dotted with picturesque islands and bays.                                 Fine dining and casual eateries abound and over 50 businesses provide a vast array of services. In fact, in addition to being a renowned tourist destination, a well-situated industrial/business park awaits further development and offers sites that are second to none, with existing infrastructure. Village government is business-friendly and incentives are at the ready.                         With a population of just over 1,000, Balsam Lake, is a comfortably sized community – with a pulse. As the county seat, the Village is the center of a hub of governmental activities with up-to-date facilities, while still retaining the cozy, small town atmosphere.
The Village of Balsam Lake is in the Unity School District. The Elementary School, Middle School and High School are located in one complex situated on 100 acres just outside of town. The education provided at Unity is outstanding and the modern facility offers all the amenities including a pool (with a hot pool and a wading pool), an auditorium that seats 600, a nature trail, tennis courts, track, football stadium and much more.
